Macaia from Matunei is as unique as their team. This natural red wine is a blend which is not a very popular choice on the Italian wine scene… and who would “waste” Nebbiolo on a blend? Well, a team dedicate to following their taste rather than trends, making a truly fantastic wine! It’s bold, it’s fresh and absolutely delicious. A rich, jammed red fruit nose and a full body flavour profile with velvety smooth tannins. This wine is a real crowd pleaser as most people really appreciate its easily approachable flavor profile that does pack a punch. 50% Barbera – 50% Nebbiolo, both native grape varieties to their terroir. During the vinification, no fining or filtering are used and biodynamic principals are applied. Fun note, the label was illustrated by tattoo artist Stephen Titoli.
About this wine: alcohol content is 14.5 %. Made with 50% Nebbiolo, 50% Barbera. Best drinking temperature is between 16-18C. Contain sulfites.
